Death threat in Singapore

With an article that reads "in appropriate situations, this may extend to the use of firearms and the possibility of death" on the front page, what message is Singapore sending out to everyone? Definitely not "Hi, welcome to Clean and Green Singapore, a nation of 4 million smiles!".

This is despite the recent discussions on our rights as Singaporeans to go on street protests. There are people who wrote in greater depth about this sad sad situation, so I shall not say more.
